SOGOD BAY - UNDERWATER PARADISE
Why it's an underwater paradise? With a marine water area of 713 sq. km., common to 11 towns, it hosts over 20 marine protected areas and world-class dive sites. It also hosts 350 out of 520 coral species in this planet. Must dive sites are as follows:
Napantao Marine Sanctuary - one of the best dive sites in the world, located in San Francisco,
Southern Leyte.
Son-ok Marine Sanctuary - home of the Whale sharks, located in Pintuyan, Southern Leyte
It also hosts the internationally acclaimed dive sites in the waters of Padre Burgos, Malitbog and the historical island of Limasawa. The Bay benefits from a responsible marine conservation program jointly undertaken by the province and Coral Cay Conservation (CCC), a London-based
Non Government Organization (NGO).
